Northwest Branch in September

Over two years since the last hike here. Pools of water sit perfectly still and just beyond their boulder barriers, the gushing stream gurgles, splashes, races eastward. Despite the early arrival of cold this Fall, the trees have held onto their green. They only hint at the red and the loss to come. Sun finally swooped down the small canyon of rocks to light up the blue sky in the water.
