Nothing Green Can Stay

Robert Frost was right. Nothing gold can stay. Time, that Vandal (thank you for the image, David Mitchell), steals away the colors in the end. But they can linger. Burned green in rippled water, cracked upon the rocks. Wind hurtles itself against the windows, brushing the house with faded leaves and bristled branches. Shallow pools dream of spring before the leaves die.
