Dancing in Decay

Acorns pummel my roof day and night–the trees know it all comes to end soon, the heat, the sun, the summer, the light. And the tulips drip away, petal by petal starting their decay, but even as they decline, they unfurl a dance, a pas de deux of beautiful, contracting lines as the surfaces deteriorate and fall off, ever elegant to the last.
